Co-Founder of HNA Oil and Gas, A graduate in Petroleum Engineering, he began his career in the oil and gas sector by taking on multiple supervisory roles across both onshore and offshore exploration and production operations. His expertise spans the oversight of complex field activities, including enhanced petroleum recovery initiatives on mature brownfield sites throughout Myanmar.
Following an initial phase in petroleum production operations, he transitioned into oil and gas exploration and drilling supervision, focusing on land rigs across Central Myanmar’s oil fields. His subsequent roles included serving as Drilling & Workover Engineer and Project Engineer, where he led well workover programs, new infill drilling campaigns, enhanced oil recovery (EOR) operations, and hydraulic fracturing initiatives aimed at maximizing hydrocarbon output.
He served as the Head of Community Engagement for Myanmar’s largest onshore 3D seismic project, supporting field operations through the completion of a deep exploratory well. He also played a pioneering role in introducing H₂S safety culture to Myanmar, collaborating with a safety services company to implement protocols across both onshore and deep-water exploration activities. In 2019, he initiated efforts to establish a national operator platform, bringing together local partners and investors to strengthen domestic capabilities in the energy sector.
HNA Myanmar is currently advancing its operations, with ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening national energy capabilities and fostering strategic partnerships across the sector.
With nearly four decades of experience in the geological domain of Myanmar’s onshore oil and gas industry, he brings deep expertise in subsurface evaluation and hydrocarbon prospecting. His career began in 1984 with the state-owned Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE), where he played a pivotal role in geoscience operations across numerous wildcat wells, including the Payagon Deep Test (Delta Area), Ondwe Deep Test (Magway Area), Kyakite Test Well (Delta Area), Myinmu Wildcat 1, Thayetkone Well 1, Tamagyaw Well 2, and Indiaing Test Wells 4 & 5.
In 2017, he was appointed General Manager, marking a significant milestone in a career defined by technical rigor and strategic leadership. His experience spans both onshore and offshore hydrocarbon basins, contributing to national energy development through exploration, evaluation, and operational excellence.
Most recently, he served as Geoscience Manager at HNA Myanmar, where he continues to seek meaningful opportunities to apply his extensive geological knowledge in support of Myanmar’s energy sector growth and sustainability.
Mr. Soe Win holds a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Yangon Technological University (formerly known as RIT) and brings over four decades of experience in Myanmar’s oil and gas industry, with a specialized focus on drilling and production operations.
Since beginning his career in 1983, he has held key operational and managerial roles across a range of strategic sites, including Ywama Central Gas Control Station, Apyauk Oil & Gas Field, Pyay Oil & Gas Field, Tanine Test Well, Indaing Oil & Gas Field, and the Production Department at Head Office. His leadership in these areas reflects a deep understanding of field operations and production optimization.
Mr. Soe Win is recognized for his strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, complemented by extensive expertise in Production Sharing Contracts (PSC), Gas Sales and Purchase Agreements (GSPA), and other related contractual frameworks. Since joining HNA Myanmar, he has been instrumental in providing strategic guidance to the Technical Management Team. His wealth of experience and professional acumen continue to serve as a cornerstone for the future development of Myanmar’s oil and gas sector.
Aung Ko Oo began his career in the oil and gas industry nine years ago, initially specializing in software engineering with a globally recognized oilfield services company. He later transitioned into production operations, where he developed a broad and practical understanding of oil and gas field management, including Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques.
His field experience spans key operational sites such as Mann Oil Field, IOR-4 (Pyay), IOR-6 (Myan Aung), and prominent oil fields in Central Myanmar including Chauk and Yaynanchaung. To further strengthen his technical leadership, he completed an intensive drilling engineering training program with ADNOC, equipping him to lead drilling and workover operations at HNA Oil & Gas Limited.
His professionalism, technical versatility, and strategic mindset continue to be instrumental in advancing HNA’s commercial hydrocarbon production initiatives.

To uphold rigorous environmental and safety standards, Mr. Kyaw Thiha Soe serves as HSE Controller, overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous monitoring of the company’s Environmental Management Plan and Safety Management System.
With professional expertise spanning both oil and gas operations and general construction, Mr. Kyaw Thiha Soe brings a comprehensive approach to workplace safety. His leadership ensures that HNA’s field operations are conducted with a strong focus on minimizing risk and preventing lost-time injuries. Recently, he expanded his industry insights through freelance consultancy and HSE practice studies in Bangkok, and has since returned to Myanmar to continue strengthening HNA’s safety culture and operational integrity.
As one of the leading technical experts at HNA Myanmar Oil & Gas Limited, Yan Naing Htoo brings specialized expertise in petroleum exploration and drilling operations. His strategic judgment and operational oversight are critical to the success and safety of HNA’s exploration activities.
His professional experience spans both exploration and drilling phases, including key assignments in Block MOGE-4, RSF-5, PSC-K, and drilling operations in Block MOGE-3. Known for his vigilance and strong commitment to health and safety, he plays a pivotal role in ensuring that HNA’s drilling environments remain incident-free and compliant with industry standards. Field management and operational integrity are firmly under his leadership.
As the youngest member of HNA Myanmar Oil & Gas Limited, Thurein Min Lwin is a recent graduate of Technological University (Thanlyin), where he specialized in Petroleum Engineering with a focus on workover and drilling operations.
Known for his rapid adaptability and creative drive, Thurein has actively contributed to a range of technical initiatives at HNA—from planning workover programs to supporting oil and gas well drilling activities. He is currently pursuing further studies abroad, continuing to build expertise in industry-supportive disciplines that will enhance his future contributions to Myanmar’s energy sector.
